The Green Options Buffalo Community Workshop is a place where volunteers and members can go and learn to repair and maintain their bicycles. They have complete refurbished bicycles for sale, along with a stock of used parts available to everyone. The shop also serves as a place to donate your used and / or unwanted bicycles. They are happy to provide you with a tax reciept for your donation.
Are you interested in restoring habitat and improving water quality?
You are invited to attend a “Caring For Your Waterfront Property” workshop in March. Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper will be hosting these workshops to provide technical assistance on the topic of riparian habitat restoration using native plant species. The riparian zone plays an enormous role in providing clean water for our communities and healthy habitat for wildlife.
Thousands of species rely on these habitats to survive and many of them have a direct impact on our way of life here in Western New York. Volunteers who get involved in restoration projects along the water’s edge have the unique opportunity to protect and improve the ecology of riparian lands and serve as models for their community. By attending, you will learn of the many opportunities Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper has to offer for becoming a steward of our natural heritage. The workshops will be held in many of the Niagara and Buffalo River municipalities. Because the material covered will be the same in each, you only need to attend one.
Staff, volunteers, and members of your organization are invited to join us for this seminar for an overview of social media platforms, including who should use them and why, and how to get the most out of Facebook with limited resources. If you are interested in attending, please register with Rebekah Williams at Rebekahw@cfgb.org by Tuesday, March 13.
Nicole Schuman, President of Social Media Club Buffalo and owner at SchuShine Communications, believes in customer and community engagement. She also believes this is best done through social media. Schuman will provide an overview of social media platforms, including who and why to use them. She will also share successful case studies on companies that have used social media to better their business. The presentation will also include some ideas on how to get the most out of Facebook with limited resources as well as time for questions.
