Do you forget things if you don’t write them down? Are you the type of person that if something isn’t written down on your to-do list, checklist or grocery list, it is most likely lost forever? How do we get ourselves to remember these things without consuming multiple scraps of paper with quick notes that often get lost anyway? Here are a few greener options:

There is something new at the Taste of Buffalo and Thursday at the Harbor this year.  It’s not a new exotic food or the next superstar band.  It’s recycling totes. 

The Taste of Buffalo, the country’s largest two-day food festival that attracts almost 450,000 patrons annually, will unveil 200 new yellow and green totes with a single hole on the top to go with its 200 garbage cans at this weekend’s event.

“We are excited about this.  We sell a lot of water and pop, and we hope that people will take advantage of the recycling totes.  It would be great if we could set an example for other festivals,” said Connie Nitkowski, President of Sell-utions, Inc. and coordinator/manager of Taste of Buffalo.

The new totes are a step up in recycling for the food festival and made possible by the City of Buffalo.

BOULEVARD MALL TO HOST FREE COMMUNITY ELECTRONICS RECYCLING DRIVE TO BENEFIT HOSPICE BUFFALO.

AMHERST, NY – Looking for an environmentally responsible way to recycle your old laptop or TV? Join Sunnking Electronics Recycling at the Boulevard Mall to help raise money for Hospice Buffalo. This free community electronics recycling event will take place in the parking lot in front of Macy’s (corner of Niagara Falls Blvd. and Maple Road) on Saturday, June 16th from 10am – 3pm. For every pound of electronics recycled at this event, Sunnking will make a monetary donation to benefit Hospice Buffalo.

Residents, small businesses, nonprofits, schools and government agencies in the area are encouraged to bring electronics such as laptops, desktops, computer accessories, TV’s, monitors, audio/video equipment, mp3 players, communications equipment, servers & IT equipment, printers, scanners, copiers,

In 2010, Americans recycled or composted 85 million tons of waste they created.  Recycling and composting are simple ways that Western New York residents, as consumers, can help the environment, create a profitable market for recycled goods and help preserve natural resources from being depleted.
