IJC Public Meeting on the Great Lakes

The International Joint Commission wants to hear your views about how the Great Lakes are faring, and what actions Canada and the United States should take to restore and protect them. Now’s the time to speak up for the lakes you love.

The afternoon Panel Discussion will offer perspectives on restoring the Buffalo-Niagara Region and visions of future success. Panelists include:

  • Buffalo-Niagara Riverkeeper
  • Buffalo Sewer Authority
  • Lake Ontario Waterkeeper
  • SUNY Buffalo State
  • University at Buffalo
  • Western New York Land Conservancy
  • Western New York Sustainable Business Roundtable

The evening Public Meeting will include brief local presentations on Great Lakes restoration and the future of the Buffalo-Niagara Region, including:

  • Key accomplishments and the role of community in the Buffalo River Area of Concern
  • Niagara River Ramsar site, a wetland of international significance
  • Making the Great Lakes the outdoor recreation destination of choice
  • Then the floor and conversation will be yours to provide your comments
