Designing to Live Sustainably (D2LS)

The competition has two categories, an “Open” category, which is geared toward professionals and non-professionals alike, (all you need is a creative approach to sustainable thinking and design) and a “Scholastic” category, open to students and classrooms of all ages and capacity.
Winners in both categories will be based on creativity, an understanding of sustainability, and the impact of any particular project on one of the nine designated areas defined by the City of Buffalo Green Code.
This is expected to be the first in a series of competitions that will help the public and private sector create long term environmental, social, and economic benefits for the city of Buffalo and the region.
Organizers will accept online submissions for the 2012 competition starting January 28, 2012, with an exhibition, judging, and cash awards to occur in June.

Contest organizers are seeking sponsors in a variety of categories including individual donors, small businesses, and larger. Sponsors will be recognized in a variety of ways including on the website, in promotions and outreach literature, a show catalog, and at the exhibition in June. We anticipate a very healthy media response and presence in the weeks and months leading up to the event.
We ask you to consider becoming involved by helping us meet our fiscal goals. For more information, contact George Besch at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
