This Saturday marks the Fourth Annual National Drug Take-Back Day and Western New York sites are read to collect your unwanted prescription drugs!
The National Drug Take-Back Day runs from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 28 at sites around the region. You should bring expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs with labels and other personal information from the bottles removed. Medicines can be brought in bottles, boxes or bags, and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents will dispose of the medicine.

According to the DEA, last October Americans turned in 377,080 pounds, 188.5 tons, of prescription drugs at over 5,300 sites operated by the DEA and nearly 4,000 state and local law enforcement partners. In its three previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners took in almost a million pounds, nearly 500 tons, of pills.
The DEA established the program to prevent old medicine from falling into the wrong hands and to keep them from being thrown away and polluting water supplies.
