The Fender Blender is a stationary bicycle that powers a blender. It demonstrates that power can be generated using simple renewable resources - in this case human energy.
Additionally, the Fender Blender demonstration encourages people to buy local by offering delicious samples of local fruits and juices. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo brings fruit and the bicycle to events and event participants can climb on board and pedal their way to a local fruit smoothie.
Tomorrow, the Fender Blender will travel to Greener Shade of Blue & You Day, where UB students and people passing by will have the opportunity to try out the Fender Blender to make their own local fruit smoothie. We hope you will stop by and try it out!!
The Fender Blender debuted this summer at the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts and at the GrowWNY Launch both in Buffalo.
