ANWR Campaign – How to Write an Op-Ed
Contact local media with the message “Save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge”
Op-eds, and Letters to the Editor, are quick and effective ways to get our “Save the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge” message out to our communities. Ultimately, the more we can circulate information and opinion the more we can help to shape the opinions of decision makers including our elected Congressional Representatives.
If you take action and get anything published please let us know by sending information including, if possible, an electronic link to: ANWR@growwny.org
Resources for Op-Eds:
The following links go to great resources for understanding issues surrounding the protection of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. If you want to write your own op-ed, these quick reads will give you important background information. Keep your op-eds to between 750-1,000 words and submit to your self-selected local media contacts listed below.
Resources for Letters to the Editor:
You can write your own Letter to the Editor, or you can send the one below, or you can pick and choose parts of this letter that help you to create your message. Below this model letter to the editor you will find contact information for newspapers in the three Congressional Districts that we are focusing our campaign on.
