Real vs. Artificial Trees: The Eco-Friendly Third Option!
BY: AMBER POTTER, GROWWNY INTERN
While the debate over whether real or artificial trees are greener rears its head every holiday season, there is an interesting third option you can try, and it may be greener than real or artificial trees, using completely recycled material and reducing holiday waste that might otherwise be thrown away!
Things you’ll need:
- Scraps of wrapping paper or old newspaper
First, you’ll need to bend the wire into a frame for the tree.
Next, cut the scrap paper into squares of various sizes.
Now it’s time to begin building your tree! I crinkled up the paper squares a bit to add some volume and texture.
Continue adding paper until it is all used up, or until the size of the tree is to your liking. You can also bend the excess wire into a star!
Enjoy your finished tree!
You can experiment with different methods and recycled materials to make an interesting and unique tree that’s sure to be a big hit!
Have any other tips for making use of recycled materials this holiday season? Let us know in the comments!
