Organization Mission: Working for the environmental protection and enhanced quality of life in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region through education, collaboration and informed action.

Key Achievements:

  • Utilizing an EPA grant and assistance program called Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE), CEI focused on reducing exposure of school children to diesel emissions.
  • CEI has been working with local partners to minimize pharmaceutical waste from entering our local water systems.
  • Genesee River Watch
  • Most recently, CEI facilitated a number of pollution prevention projects under an EPA Community Action for a Renewed Environment grant, working on education, research and community projects to reduce toxic emissions.
