Organization Name: Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo

Mission: To connect people, ideas, and resources to improve lives in Western New York.

Vision: A vibrant and inclusive Greater Buffalo region with opportunity for all.

Key Achievements:

  • The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo has been dedicated to helping individuals, families and organizations make the most of their generosity since 1919, and is currently home to over 750 named funds.
  • The Community Foundation acts as a community leader and cross-sector convener to address specific pressing needs in our region, especially within its four critical community goals: Improving educational achievement for low-income students; Increasing racial/ethnic equity; Enhancing and leverage significant natural resources; Strengthening the region as a center for architecture, arts, and culture.
  • The Community Foundation attracts national funding to our region, which has supported projects such as GrowWNY.org, Grow 716 and more! As reported in 2013, a total of $35 million was brought to our region through Community Foundation efforts.
