Meet the member organizations of the Western New York Environmental Alliance! 

Organization Name: Niagara Gateway Columbus Park Association

Mission: Eliminate (not mitigate) air pollution caused by diesel emission, restore public health and promote an alternative plan that removes trucks from the peace bridge crossing.

Vision: To protect community residents on Buffalo’s lower West Side from the adverse health impacts resulting from truck and car traffic at the Peace Bridge, and to preserve the neighborhood’s historic buildings and resources.

Key Achievements:

  •  The National Trust for Historic Preservation placed us on their 11 most endangered sites in the United States. That same year the Preservation League of NYS placed us on their Seven to Save list.
  • Recognized by the National Environmental Justice Conference. NEJC has invited us to lecture at Howard University Law School in Washington, DC. for the past two years because the cause of our environmental justice is so unique.
  • Articles in the Buffalo News and Artvoice
  • Environmental and Health studies
